Programs for Children
Our activities for youth are focused on homework help, creative expression and educational games. We offer a mixture of small workshops and activities that combine recreation and education. All of the centers with computer resource rooms offer afterschool programs open to children ages six to thirteen. The programs include homework help, arts and crafts, sports, dance, and computers. Children use the computers to type up essays for school, to use the Internet or CD-ROM reference materials to research writing assignments. As children's facilities with the computers grow, instructors give workshops in software like Publisher and Photoshop. The children also play educational games like the Carmen Sandiego series and Treasure Mathstorm. It is our goal to get young people to think of computers as tools, not toys. Technology is a powerful attraction for young people, and it is a good way to make academic subjects like math and reading more exciting.
CRC Newsletter
Each center publishes a regular newsletter highlighting the childrens' creativity. Newsletters include stories, editorials, poems and drawings. Newsletters are an effective way to encourage our young clients to read and write in a low-pressure, recreational context.

Art Projects
Children use digital art programs like KidPix Studio to create original art. We publish their work in newsletters and display it in the centers.
