Tennis Permits and Renewal Applications

The tennis season begins (weather permitting) April 5th, 2008 to the third Sunday of November. Permits purchased are good for use until the end of the season.

*Please note: This year's tennis season begins (weather permitting) on Saturday, April 5th. Parks will begin processing and mailing out online renewals starting in mid-March.

For single play, permits are good for one hour of tennis each day, in any borough. For doubles play, permits are good for two hours of tennis each day in any borough. All players must have permits or single-play (one-time use) tickets.

Season permits or single play tickets are required to play in all boroughs. Tennis permits are nonrefundable.

You may renew your tennis permit and purchase single play tickets, court reservation tickets, or a locker rental using the ONLINE FORM.

New tennis permit applications (PDF, 83 KB) must be completed by mail or in person by downloading the form, printing, and mailing the application to or visiting one of the borough offices below. Adobe Acrobat required.

Athletic permits for other sports such as baseball, soccer, and football are available online.

Obtain a permit in person

Processing for tennis permit renewals (mail) will begin in mid-March. PLEASE NOTE: This applies to tennis permits only. For all other athletic permits, refer to sports pages for individual deadlines.

Bring the following materials to one of the locations below:

  • Check money order, or credit card for appropriate dollar amount
  • Proof of age (for Senior & Junior permits)
  • Photo ID

Paragon Sporting Goods will NOT issue or renew permits past 30 minutes prior to closing time.

Method of Payment

  • Personal checks must be drawn on a NY State bank and must have the account name imprinted on it.
  • If being presented in person, two pieces of identification, such as a driver's license and a major credit card, are required.
  • Checks over $100.00 should not be accepted without authorization from the supervisor.
  • Money Orders are accepted as cash but must be the exact amount of the permit purchase, as no change will be returned.
  • Traveler's Checks are accepted as cash and change may be returned; however permit purchase must be greater than 50% of the face value of the check.
  • Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are the only credit cards accepted
