Urban Park Rangers

Urban Environmental Education Intern

The Urban Park Rangers are a division of New York City Parks & Recreation. The Rangers' mission is to link New Yorkers to the natural world. Rangers teach people to care for the environment and the parks, protect the parks and their wild residents, and restore New York City 's natural heritage. The Urban Park Rangers are members of the Urban Ecology Collaborative (UEC), a multi-city group comprised of environmental organizations in the northeast region that work together to share ideas, models and tools in the field of urban ecology.

• follow up with phone calls or visits to these organizations in order to complete the survey. There is a data entry component and a possible role in data analysis. • assist in the production of the final report, and also provide support to other UEC-related projects.

QUALIFICATIONS
The job is ideally suited for a recent graduate, graduate student or an advanced undergraduate student in the urban ecology/environmental education field. It is an excellent opportunity to network with local environmental organizations in New York City , and partners along the East Coast.  Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and attention to detail and proficiency in MS Office are required.
