Swim Instructors and Instructor Aides
Parks & Recreation seeks Recreation Specialists ($16.78/hour) to organize and instruct children in our Learn to Swim Program this summer at pools in all 5 boroughs. Three years Recreation experience, including one year of aquatics experience or equivalent education or experience required. ARC WSI or equivalent certification and ARC CPR or equivalent preferred. EOE.

We also seek Instructor Aides ($10.06 or $12.53/hour, depending on experience) to assist swimming instructors to teach children to swim.

Camp Counselor, Urban Park Ranger Summer Camps (PDF, 51 KB)
The Urban Park Rangers seek seasonal naturalists and outdoor enthusiasts who want to spend their summer working with children as camp counselors in our Junior Rangers day camp to build park stewardship through fun, educational activities such as canoeing, hiking, fishing, orienteering, arts and crafts, and camping. Camp counselors work 40 hours per week, including some weekends and overnights.

Counselor-in-Training, Urban Park Ranger Summer Camps (PDF, 50 KB)
The Urban Park Rangers seek high school students who want to spend their summer working with children as camp counselors-in-training in our Junior Rangers day camps to build park stewardship through fun, educational activities, such as canoeing, hiking, fishing, orienteering, arts and crafts, and camping. Camp counselors-in-training work 35 hours per week, including some weekends and overnights.
