- Central Forestry
plants four pear trees and one Linden in a Greenstreet
directly across from City Hall on the approach to
the Brooklyn Bridge. The trees, which survived the
World Trade Center attack, were located in front
of 5 World Trade Center.
- The Daffodil
Project needs people to volunteer and plant bulbs
in downtown Manhattan at Lt. Petrosino Park and
Christopher Park tomorrow. Anyone who is interested
should call the District Manager, at (212) 408-0235.
An estimated 30,000 bulbs were planted in Manhattan
over the weekend.
- Bid documents
will be available for contractor pick-up tomorrow
for the construction of the Red Light (Bathgate)
Playground in the Bronx. Bids are due from contractors
on November 27. The bid documents are located at
the Olmsted Center in Flushing Meadows Corona Park,
Flushing, New York 11368.
- Staten Island
plants flowers around the newly erected Great Kills
Veterans' Memorial.
- The Urban Park
Rangers, Parks Enforcement Patrol (PEP), and Central
Communications played an integral role in maintaining
safety and order at the New York City Marathon.
- Operations Management
and Planning (OMP) begins agency-wide information
requests for the preliminary fiscal year 2002 Mayor's
Management Report.
- Operations and Management Planning visits Asser Levy Recreation Center to perform an inspection of the facilities and to label fitness equipment. Parks continuously tracks the rate of out of service fitness equipment at corresponding Recreation Centers. Asser Levy is located on 23rd Street and the FDR in Manhattan.
