  • The First Deputy Commissioner's office conducts a ParkStat Plus+ session on Friday, February 8th at 8:00 AM for Brooklyn Districts 2 and 6. The meeting will take place in the third floor conference room of the Arsenal, located at 64th Street and 5th Avenue inside Manhattan's Central Park. Districts 2 and 6 are comprised of Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Carroll Gardens, Red Hook, and Downtown Brooklyn.
  • Bronx Operations and the Parks Opportunity Program (POP) conduct a training session today on Personnel issues for employees of District 13. Topics covered will include proper procedure for filling out time cards, time and leave, and benefits. The training takes place at the Van Cortlandt stadium building at Broadway and West 240th Street in the Bronx.
  • Bid documents are available on Friday, February 8 for contractor pick-up for the reconstruction of portions of the Adriance Farmhouse, the Greenhouse complex, and the education building at the Queens County Farm Museum. Bids are due from contractors on March 11. Documents are available at the Olmsted Center in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Queens. The museum is located at 73-50 Little Neck Parkway in Floral Park.
  • The New York Road Runner's Club sponsors a 'Valentine's Day Twosome' 10K and 2M in Central Park on Saturday, February 9 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. There are three types of teams that will be scored: male-female, male-male and female-female. Winners are determined by the combined times of both partners. All participants receive a rose for their efforts. The 2M starts at the West Drive and West 61st Street, while the 10K starts at the West Drive and West 62nd Street. Both races finish at Tavern on the Green, located inside Central Park at West 67th Street.
  • The Pieter Claesen Wyckoff House Museum presents African Lives on Brooklyn's Dutch Farms at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 7. The museum examines the experiences of African-Americans in Brooklyn's Dutch farming community, ranging from slavery to emancipation, in honor of Black History Month. The Wyckoff House Museum is located on Clarendon Road at Ralph Avenue in Brooklyn.
