Parks ‘Lights Up’ Kaiser Park’s Track And Digs Into New Field House

DATE: Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

TIME: 6:30 p.m.

LOCATION: Kaiser Park Track, Bayview Avenue at Neptune Avenue

EVENT & PHOTO-OP: Brooklyn Parks Commissioner Julius Spiegel, Council Member Domenic Recchia Jr. and community members will flip the switch on the new track and field lights and break ground on the new field house at Kaiser Park.

DETAILS:

Kaiser Park received a double-header in renovations, thanks to $3.5 million from Mayor Bloomberg, Borough President Marty Markowitz and Council Member Domenic Recchia Jr. Brooklynites can extend their time on the field with new lights. Parks and elected officials will celebrate with a ceremonial “first flip” on the $1.3 million project.

After the celebratory lighting, BC Spiegel and Council Member Recchia Jr. will break ground on a new field house. Thanks to $2.2 million from elected officials, Kaiser Park’s field house will receive new doors, roof, windows, interior walls, plumbing, locker rooms, work stations and benches. The facility will be made fully accessible.
