Summer Camps

The NYC Parks Experience Summer Day Camp program is an exciting chance for children to have a fun-filled summer! Your child will engage in sports, fitness, and outdoor adventure and take part in many of New York City’s rich cultural and educational opportunities. Campers will hike through local parks, learn to play sports, swim in Parks pools, travel to museums, engage in environmental education and participate in a wide variety of structured activities.

The 2012 NYC Parks Experience will begin July 9, 2012 and will end August 24, 2012. Day camps operate weekdays only. Children must be between the ages of 6 to 13 by the start of the program on July 9, 2012. The only exception is Raymond O'Connor Park, which offers a summer camp program (with no trips or swimming) for children ages 3 to 6½ on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Registration

Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2012, and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012. The registration will be conducted through an online lottery. More information about how to register will be available soon.

Staff will be available during designated hours to assist with registration at our centers. After the lottery ends and slots are filled, any remaining slots will be available for online registration on a first come, first served basis.

Cost

The NYC Parks Experience is one of the most affordable summer day camp options available. Though we do not offer any financial assistance or sibling discounts, we do offer a three-part payment plan.

All camps (except Raymond O'Connor Park) offer Regular Day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; select camps offer an Extended Day option from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. See the list of camps below for more details.

Payment Plan: Deposit of $100 is due by March 24, 2012. The second payment of $200 is due by April 14, 2012. The final payment of $200 ($275 for the Extended Day option at select sites) is due no later than May 12, 2012. Payment is accepted via credit card (or debit card with a credit card logo), postal money order, or a certified bank check.
