Program Details
Procedure
Lap Swimming - Swimmers please choose a slow, intermediate, or fast lane according to your ability. All swimmers must sign-in, if you would like the Aquatic Specialist to keep track of the distance you swim, count your own lengths and when leaving inform the Aquatic Specialist of the number of lengths logged for the day as well as your Administration Number. A length is the distance from one end of the pool to the other. The results will be recorded daily by the Aquatic Specialist on a 5" x 8" card. If you would like to check your daily or weekly progress, please ask the Aquatic Specialist for your 5" x 8" card. Swimmers' laps will be counted on an arbitrary basis throughout the summer to help ensure fairness in the competition for trophies and t-shirts.
Stroke Mechanics
If you would like tips on stroke mechanics, designed to increase the "watermanship" of the individual, ask the Aquatic Specialist at poolside.
Awards
First, second, and third place awards will be presented to men and women who have completed the most lengths beginning Thursday, July 5 through Friday, August 3. Also, t-shirts will be given to those who accumulate 30 miles or more in celebration of our 30th anniversary. If you are interested in being eligible for an award, complete the check box on the registration form.
If you have any questions regarding the program such as which lane is best based on your ability, or the direction you should be swimming, please speak with the Aquatic Specialist.
