Mobile Recreation Vans
The Mobile Recreation Program offers organized activities at a variety of different neighborhood, community and special events. The vans provide free activities for all New York City residents of all ages. From June to September, teams of trained Parks Staff travel throughout the five boroughs of New York City to provide structured and supervised activities.
Types of Mobile Recreation Vans
Play Mobiles
The Play Mobiles offer organized sports including basketball, volleyball, and soccer, as well as more traditional activities such as relay races, tug-o-war, and jump roping. The Play Mobiles also offer arts & crafts nature projects, tabletop board games, face painting, balloon art and face painting.
Skate Mobiles
The Skate Mobiles offer lessons and activities in in-line skating. The program provides helmets and safety equipment as well as basic instruction, organized races and obstacle courses for all ability levels.
Fitness Mobiles
Our Fitness Mobile is loaded with a 32' flatscreen TV and Dance Dance Revolution PSP Game & Wii Fit.
How to Apply
Mobile units are great fits for community activities, whether picnics, family days, block parties, health fairs, or summer camp celebrations. If your community group or organization is interested in renting a Mobile Unit, please apply online.
