Swim with the Best: Join a Parks Swim Team

July 9 – August 17, 2013

NYC Parks offers talented youths an opportunity to join a Parks swim team. Practice sessions are held Tuesdays and Thursdays(varies by site) and emphasize stroke technique, endurance and speed training, starts and turns, rules and sportsmanship.

How to Join

Team tryouts will be held on an ongoing basis. Swimmers will train for the Five Borough Championship meet on August 17, 2013. Youths between the ages of 6 and 18 who can swim freestyle (front crawl) 25 meters in good form may try out for the team. All participants are required to submit a completed application and a copy of their birth certificate before trying out. You can pick up applications and your child can try out for the Parks Swim Team between July 9 and July 19 during scheduled swim team practice hours only.
