Lyons Pool is one of the 11 pools built in New York City during the Works Progress Administration era of the 1930s. Completed in 1936, this pool and its brethren were triumphs of design and engineering. A little more than 75 years after its opening day, NYC Parks photographer Daniel Avila visited the pool to find that the pool remains a marvel and a pillar of its community.
