The 2012 ice skating season began with a great new start, as public ice skating returned to the Bronx for the first time in years. On December 11, Parks photographer Daniel Avila visited Lasker Rink in Manhattan and the new Van Cortlandt Rink to find people taking to the ice in celebration of their favorite winter activity.
