On June 22, 2011, NYC Parks welcomed 15 of its specialty food vendors from around the boroughs to Central Park's Arsenal building to celebrate their award-winning goods. New York City has long been known for its street food, but NYC Parks has made an effort to attract diversity, gourmet, and healthy food to its parks. At Taste of Parks, people were able to try pizza, dosas, huaraches, grilled cheese, oxtail, and many more items from around the world, in addition to signature pretzels and hot dogs.
