With its sylvan expanses, Willowbrook offers a wonderful chance to escape into a more peaceful setting. Hikers explore its woods, while many species of birds take advantage of the five-acre lake to nest and eat and do other avian activities.

Amusements for people include tennis courts, playgrounds, ballfields, hiking, and an archery range, which provides a perfect opportunity for those wishing to reenact their favorite scenes from Robin Hood. One of its most unique draws is the Carousel for All Children, a handicap-accessible merry-go-round on which 51 hand-carved wooden animals circle panels depicting Staten Island scenes.
