In Hamlet, the young prince Hamlet returns home from the University of Wittenberg to attend his father’s funeral and his mother’s wedding. On October 26 and 27, Shakespeare in the Square, a student group at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, will take on what some consider the greatest work in the western canon.
Shakespeare in the Square will run four performances of Hamlet, rain or shine, in Washington Square Park’s Garibaldi Plaza (east of the fountain), on Saturday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. and again at 4:00 p.m and on Sunday, October 27 at 1:00 p.m and again at 4:00 p.m Performances are free and open to the public. Run time is approximately two hours.
