Important Winter Storm-Related Service Changes

New York City parks are now open. We continue to urge caution in parks under wintry conditions: parks paths can be slippery, snow cover can cover frozen lakes and bodies of water, and branches may have fallen. If you see a fallen branch call 311.

Some recreation centers will open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. today with limited staffing.

International Coastal Cleanup at Soundview Park

Join the Friends of Soundview Park and the Bronx River Alliance as they work to improve the health of the Long Island Sound and remove waterfront debris. All tools provided. Free and for all ages!

8:00 a.m. Early bird special! Low tide shore line clean-up

9:00 a.m. On-land & on-water clean-up (includes paddling)

11:45 a.m. Bike raffle by REI and lunch by Whole Foods

1:00 p.m. Paddling coastal clean-up trip from Soundview Park to Concrete Plant Park. Registration for this activity is required

2:00 p.m. Ecological restoration nature walk by the Natural Resources Group

2:00 p.m. Performances by Health People Kids at Waterwash ABC Wetland Park (OFF-SITE)

This event is organized by the Friends of Soundview Park and the Bronx River Alliance with support from Partnerships for Parks, NYC Parks, Natural Resources Group, The GYM Project, Whole Foods and REI. This event celebrates It's My Park Day, International Coastal Cleanup, Fifth World Parks Day and National Estuaries Day.

Shuttle service from the Morrison Avenue/Soundview Avenue 6 train station from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and returning back to the train after clean-up.

Portions of this park will be closed to bring an exciting and playful space for children, teenagers and adults to play. The new Metcalf Playground will bring an exciting and playful space for children, teenagers and adults to play and recreate. And a natural amphitheater and performance lawn will allow concerts, theater performances, and other cultural programs to be conducted in Soundview Park.
