Parks maintains 14 miles of beaches, all of which are open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.

Hours

During beach season, lifeguards are on duty daily, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Swimming is prohibited when lifeguards are not on duty and in closed sections. Closed sections are marked with signs and/or red flags.

Note: Surf beaches are located between 67-69 Street and 87-92 Street.
Accessible
Accessible Notes: There are beach mats available at Beach 17th Street, 116th Street, and 131 Street.

Bicycle and Skate Path: Bicycling is permitted except on weekends and holidays between May 1 and September 30 after 10:00 a.m.
Boardwalk: Yes (closed 10:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.)
Concession Stand: Yes
Directions: BUS: Q22 from bus terminal on Archer Avenue.
SUBWAY: A to Broad Channel then shuttle train.
PARKING: Free parking lots at B. 11th to B. 15th Street and B. 95th Street; free street parking.

Beach entrances are temporarily closed at B. 106th, B. 115th, and B. 117th Streets.

Sections of the beach are closed between, B. 30th and B. 58th Streets, B. 86th and B. 88th Streets, B. 92nd and B.108th Streets.

The boardwalk will be closed between B. 35th and B. 40th Streets, B. 60th and B. 66th Streets, B. 69th and 74th Streets, and B. 86th through 126th Streets. There will be access to boardwalk islands at B. 86th Street, B. 97th Street, B. 106th Street, and B. 116th-117th Street.
