Snow Day! Parks Hosts Fun, Free Winter Snow Activities For Youth

Bronx: Crotona Park (Fulton Avenue and East 172nd Street)/11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Brooklyn: Prospect Park (near the Tennis House)/11:00a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Manhattan: Riverside Park (Riverside Drive at 103rd Street)/11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Queens: Juniper Valley Park (78th Street & Juniper Valley North)/11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Staten Island: Clove Lakes Park (Martling and Slosson Avenues)/11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Event and Photo-op

New York City youth take to the parks for fun, free snowy activities hosted by NYC Parks & Recreation. Snow Day sites (one in each borough, locations listed above) will host FREE, supervised outdoor recreation and winter fun for youth, including sledding, snowman and snow angel contests, friendly snowball fights, music and complimentary hot chocolate. Urban Park Rangers will provide winter walks and nature activities.

This event is free and open to the public. Sleds will be available to borrow.

Due to the extreme weather conditions, all Parks Recreation Centers will close at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27.

Know Before You Go

Riverside Park

The northernmost A-dock at the 79th Street Boat Basin is currently closed to public access for structural enhancements. The dock will be further supported with non-wood pilings and a new wave screen.
Anticipated Completion: Spring 2013
