PIPE SOUNDS WITH CHARLES LONG!
We are thrilled to announce that the first Mad. Sq. Kids Family Art Workshop of the season will take place on:
Thursday, June 28, 1PM – 4:30PM!
To celebrate the summer season, Mad. Sq. Art has transformed the Park’s lush Oval Lawn into a fun, interactive installation for all ages! Bring your little ones to explore Pet Sounds, the Park’s newest exhibition by the California-based artist Charles Long, and then get creative with our Family Art Workshop which was inspired by the exhibition. Comprised of hundreds of yards of vibrant handrails and biomorphic forms, the installation vibrates and makes unusual sounds when you trace your hands over them. We will be making our own version called Pipe Sounds with simple, colorful materials that explore the science of sound in a new, fun way!
Artist Charles Long will be stopping by to answer questions and help with the projects during the afternoon, so be sure not to miss him before he heads back to California for his next exhibition!
The Workshop is first-come, first-served. To find us, look for the white MSPC tent by the Oval Lawn in Madison Square Park.
**Please note that Adult Supervision is required for all Family Art Workshop activities!
