NYC Parks urges caution during the snow storm predicted for Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening. Heavy ice and snow can cause hazardous conditions in parks, including falling branches and treacherous frozen park paths. NYC Parks advises New Yorkers to avoid using parks until Wednesday morning, when we will provide an update on park conditions.

Please note: This event has already taken place. Please use the Search options on the right to find upcoming events.

Take a short walk through the forest search for pine, spruce, and other trees and shrubs that are still green, and collect interesting samples to examine. Then we will return to the Education Building to view needles and cones under new microscopes, and other lab equipment sponsored by the Northfield Foundation. Cool patterns and interesting intricacies will reveal themselves to us. This program is designed for ages 8 and up and is sponsored by Councilman Vincent Ignizio. Meet at the Nevada Avenue entrance to High Rock Park. Registration required.
