Please note: This event has already taken place. Please use the Search options on the right to find upcoming events.
Feeling cooped up? Come stretch your legs as we explore the winter wonders of Freshkills Park. Learn about how what was once the world’s largest landfill is becoming a park full of wildlife. Discover how the wildlife copes with the winter weather as we spot winter waterfowl and hunt for animal tracks on this two hour hike.
Registration is free, but only 14 spots are available, so please register in advance. Remember to come prepared for an adventure with sturdy shoes and warm clothes.
Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure. A shuttle will depart from the Eltingville Transit Center promptly at 1:00 p.m. to transport you into Freshkills Park.
