The ancient sport of archery is an activity just about anyone can participate in. Archery helps to improve your concentration and develop your mental discipline. Like any new skill, archery requires practice and patience to master. Urban Park Ranger-led archery programs sharpen these skills while connecting you with nature by getting you outdoors. Archery is also a great way to build upper body strength and to stay fit! Our trained Rangers will demonstrate the safe and proper way to draw a bow, shoot an arrow, and focus on the target. Discover Archery for yourself and learn to hit your mark!

Families and children, ages 8 years and older, are welcome to participate in our archery programs. Programs are first-come, first-served. Participation in a mandatory safety review led by a trained Ranger is required.  All equipment is provided and personal archery equipment is not allowed.

Know Before You Go

ParkFort Totten Park

The parking lot at Little Bay Park - in front of the Fort Totten entrance is under construction. The project will include the construction of a new comfort station and expansion of the parking lot at Little Bay Park to serve users of both Little Bay Park and Fort Totten Park. The existing parking lot will be reconstructed and new planted islands (swales) will be added to improve air quality and reduce storm water run-off. The Brooklyn-Queens Greenway, which currently runs along the southern end of the park, will be relocated along the waterfront and extended into Fort Totten Park. New landscaped meadows and tree plantings will be added between the parking lot and the Cross Island service road, and a new comfort station will be added to Little Bay Park. This project will improve public access to Little Bay and Fort Totten Parks and will improve the utility and public enjoyment of the Greenway.

Anticipated Completion: Fall 2014
