Important Winter Storm-Related Service Changes

New York City parks are now open. We continue to urge caution in parks under wintry conditions: parks paths can be slippery, snow cover can cover frozen lakes and bodies of water, and branches may have fallen. If you see a fallen branch call 311.

Some recreation centers will open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. today with limited staffing.

Kids Junk Orchestra was created by professional musician Dennis J. Dove, former principle performer for Broadway and Off Broadway shows. Fulfilling his passion for music and working with youth, Dennis founded Kids Junk Orchestra to expose youth to the arts through music. Kids Junk Orchestra emphasizes musical enrichment, by encouraging youth to tap into their imagination and creativity. Through the use of non-conventional items such as buckets, pots, and pans, youth learn how to create various sounds and rhythms. Kids Junk Orchestra targets youth of all ages and its mission is to foster an interest in music. Members of Kids Junk Orchestra have performed nationally and internationally at schools, sporting, community events, and festivals.
