Central Park is one of the great American works of art and an early major democratic public space. Join Sara Cedar Miller, Central Park Conservancy historian and photographer, for an illustrated talk on the fascinating and surprising history of the park and its 30-year transformation by the Central Park Conservancy.

Know Before You Go

In order to perform necessary maintenance and repairs, the Chelsea swimming pool will be closed from Thursday, October 1 - Saturday, October 31. The pool will reopen for normal business hours on Sunday, November 1. While the pool is closed, please feel free to explore any of our five other indoor pools in Manhattan, included with your membership. Among them: Tony Dapolito (West Village), Gertrude Ederle (Upper West Side), and Asser Levy (Kips Bay). On Columbus Day, Monday, October 12, this Recreation Center is open from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
