Central Park
Parks & Recreation is pleased to welcome Pullcart to Bethesda Terrace in Central Park. Pullcart is operated by Rick Camac and Fatty Crew Hospitality, which owns and operates the restaurants Fatty Crab and Fatty 'Cue, as well as multiple locations of Fatty Snack kiosks throughout the city.
“Central Park is one of the world’s premier open spaces and the public backyard for New Yorkers and visitors to our great city,” said Parks & Recreation Commissioner Adrian Benepe. “Pullcart will provide visitors to Bethesda Terrace with tasty treats while they enjoy the remarkable surroundings and tranquil sounds of the nearby fountain. Central Park has never looked better, thanks to the remarkable stewardship of the Central Park Conservancy, and now many of its 38 million annual visitors will have another place to satisfy their hunger and thirst and extend their visit to Central Park.”
“In combining great food with a striking view, we will be creating an unforgettable experience for the Park's 38 million annual visitors,” said Central Park Conservancy President Douglas Blonsky.
“The Fatty Crew is thrilled to have this opportunity to offer its food & hospitality amidst such breathtaking surroundings. What better venue to stop by for a well-deserved drink and light bite to round out a long day’s work, or to enjoy a weekend day in the Park,” said Rick Camac, CEO of Fatty Crew Hospitality.
Pullcart will operate daily from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., subject to seasonal changes and weather related circumstances. Their menu includes pulled pork sandwiches, smoked chicken salad sandwiches, potato salad, black eyed pea salad, yogurt parfait, pastries, beverages, and more. Twelve tables with four chairs per table will be set up for casual al fresco dining, the perfect atmosphere for enjoying a refreshing beer or glass of wine, also available at the cart. This outdoor café will operate for a 6-year term.
Since 2008, the Parks Department has worked to attract an array of high quality, healthy and diverse food vendors to whet New York City’s diverse palate.
