Marcelo D2 is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of latin hip-hop. From his beginnings fronting the popular Brazilian band, Planet Hemp to the international recognition gained during his solo career, this Rio de Janeiro native has been credited with creating a unique blend of traditional samba and hip-hop. His style consists of live latin loops, beats, samples and scratches that has landed him performances around the world alongside artists such as Stevie Wonder and Erykah Badu. You don’t need to speak Portuguese to appreciate this act - words might not always translate, but rhythm and passion certainly do.

Pitty is one of the most successful Brazilian rockstars of her generation. Influenced by the sounds of rock greats such as The Beatles, Nirvana and Metallica, her strong, assertive voice accompanies her hard-hitting rock sound. Her solo debut, Admirável Chip Novo made her an instant star and was on heavy rotation on MTV Brazil. Her follow up albums Anacrônico and Chiaroscuro cemented her as a regular on all of Brazil’s major radio stations as well as garnering her the title of as one of the “100 Most Influential Brazilians in 2010,” by the Brazilian magazine, Época.

DJ Nuts is an astute and rigorous historian of Brasil’s vast and varied musical culture. Known for his legendary collection of music, he plays Brazilian classics and mixes it with the best of modern Brazilian music.
