This Weekend In Parks

NYC Parks
Scarecrow Contest
Register now for the third annual Scarecrow Design Competition—a celebration of the spirit of creative expression! By registering now at the Parks website, you will have the chance to display your work at Bethesda Fountain in Central Park on October 30, and to win prizes! Prizes are offered in several age categories, and the winning scarecrow designs will be displayed after the event in the Arsenal Gallery, the only municipally-run gallery in New York City.
Open House New York
Take a look at some of New York’s architectural treasures in parks! Open House New York Weekend opens historical buildings and structures in all five boroughs to more than 300 tours and events on October 9 and 10. Many Parks Department properties, including mansions, gardens, and castles, will be on display. Some events are listed below, but visit www.nycgovparks.org/events for a full list of OHNY events in parks to get a peek of old New York or the city that’s yet to come!
