Know Before You Go
The building is closed. This project will construct a new 2,400 square foot building that directs visitors towards both the original Edgar Allan Poe cottage at the north end of the park, and towards the bandstand to the south. The building will house exhibition space, information desk and public bathrooms. A large glass window at the end of the exhibition hall will frame the view of the Poe cottage. The roof will be slightly V-shaped like rising wings, while the exterior walls will be covered with overlapping dark feather-like gray slate shingles. The building's concept alludes abstractly to Poe's poem 'The Raven'. Please pardon our appearance.
Anticipated Completion: Fall 2011
