The existing portion of Ferry Point Park, west of the Whitestone Bridge, has recently undergone renovations to enhance this well used facility. For the sports enthusiast, a new synthetic soccer field with bleachers now occupies the northern portion of the site. The passive recreation space includes a new picnic area with tables and grills, as well as a new waterfront sitting area that frames a view of Manhattan across the river. In addition, new plantings enhance the natural beauty of the site. Construction at this park was complete in spring 2010.

Ferry Point West: Comfort Station Montage
The enhancements will also include an 800–square–foot public comfort station. The vandal–resistant, environmentally sound building will serve as a year–round restroom facility and includes storage space and a mechanical room. For convenience, the comfort station will be centrally located close to the ballfields. It has been designed to rise above the flood plane, and is set in a composite wood deck that compliments the park’s design and the surrounding historical features. Construction is expected to begin in late 2012.
