Ferry Point Park Development
Community Park
The newly renovated 9.5-acre Community Park offers its visitors opportunities for both passive and active recreation. At the north end of the park, visitors will find active components such as a ball fields and basketball courts, open lawn, and a playground. The southern portion of the park is designed for more leisurely activities with a stonedust path running through its interior. Along this path are a unique shade structure and timber bridges that span a stormwater basin planted with native wildflowers. Phase I of this park was completed and open to the public in fall 2011. Phase II, which includes reconstructed ballfields, was also completed and opened to the public in spring 2012. Phase III, which calls for the construction of the Community Park comfort station, is anticipated to begin in summer 2013, to be complete by summer 2014.
