NYC Parks urges caution during the snow storm predicted for Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening. Heavy ice and snow can cause hazardous conditions in parks, including falling branches and treacherous frozen park paths. NYC Parks advises New Yorkers to avoid using parks until Wednesday morning, when we will provide an update on park conditions.

Give The Gift Of Life At Parks Blood Drive

Help Save A Life! Did You Know?
• There is no substitute for human blood.
• Only 2% of our local eligible population donates blood each year. We need more eligible donors like you to change that statistic and make a difference!
• You cannot get an infectious disease by donating.
• The average adult has 8—12 pints of blood and can easily spare one pint.
• By donating one unit (that’s about one pint) of blood, you can help save several lives. How? By separating each donation into its components: red blood cells (for anemia); white blood cells (for leukemia); plasma (for burns); cryoprecipitate (for hemophilia) and platelets (for internal bleeding).

“We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.”

Tom Stoppard
