Parks Salutes Its Employees Of The Month (Part III)

Allan Scholl is the Capital Projects Employee of the Month for December.

Allan has been with Parks since 1994. He works as a Landscape Architect and has become one of the most trusted members of Capital’s team.

Allan is responsible for in-house design and has served as the designer on many projects for the Manhattan Capital Landscape Architecture program. This position requires a broad range of abilities. Allan must be able to envision new design plans while addressing the minute details of contracts, which he handles with skillful expertise.

A Landscape Architect must possess outstanding technical knowledge, and Allan certainly holds his own in this regard. He adds to this reservoir of knowledge a deep well of patience and genuine interest in the designs he creates. Allan consistently completes his designs on time and within budget. His designs have proceeded through construction with few or no change orders. In fact, his John Jay Playground project was completed four months ahead of schedule. As a mentor, he has developed the abilities of his staff, providing timely and thoughtful feedback of their work.

Some of the projects that Allan designed were recently featured in Time Out New York's 'Top 25 Playgrounds in NYC,' including Indian Road Playground and Hester Street Playground.

For his conscientiousness and attention to detail, Allan Scholl was nominated by Nancy Prince, Deputy Chief of Design; Desmond Spillane, Manhattan Team Leader; and Therese Braddick, the Deputy Commissioner for Capital Projects.

“Do not fear death so much, but rather the inadequate life.”
