Black History Month in Parks
This February, take some time to come out to Parks to learn about the trials and victories of black Americans. Visit our permanent sculpture collection, which represent great African-Americans and themes from Black history, or take in an event at one of our recreation centers.

BeFitNYC Free First Mondays
Our recreation centers will open their doors on Monday, February 6 to welcome you with a day of free fitness programs and activities. You can swim, bike, step, jog, lift, volley, and more! Remember to bring a photo ID and a towel if you want to work out.

GREEN TIP OF THE WEEK

Keep Out the Drafts: Install or upgrade your doors’ weather stripping. Have someone stand on the other side of the door and shine a flashlight around the door’s perimeter. If you can see light through the cracks, your door needs some sealing. You can use sand-filled door draft stoppers or even rolled up towels/blankets to keep drafts from coming in from beneath.
