Pebble counts were used to determine bed particle size distribution as part of the anadromous fish reintroduction feasibility study. These pebble counts were used to determine where suitable spawning grounds exist in the Bronx River.

Methods
Grains were selected by reaching down and picking up the first grain touched. Diameter was measured for the average dimension and recorded.
Bed Particle Size Distributions

Median particle size = 92.92 mm

Median particle size = 130 mm

Median particle size = 55.29 mm

Median particle size = 91.65

Median particle size = 91.65 mm
