Reach 8: Upstream of Dam 2
The river upstream of Dam 2 (Double Zoo Dams) is a distinct, smaller impoundment than the one above Dam 1 (182nd St. Dam). This reach extends from Dam 2 upstream into the Botanic Garden until the river slope steepens at the Snuff Mill. Wetlands in the Bronx Zoo are located along the impoundments on the river as well as upstream in the watershed.
