Calling All Earthkeepers! Dig It!

Important Information for Saturday:
Dig It will be taking place rain or shine (each volunteer will receive a poncho). Please arrive at Indian Field between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. and remember to wear comfortable clothes that can get a little dirty!
Green up and clean up Van Cortlandt Park with Timberland® Earthkeepers® and NYC Parks.
Join Timberland® Earthkeepers® and NYC Parks on Saturday, October 3 for Dig It, a volunteer day in Van Cortlandt Park. Come out and help us paint light posts and benches, ward off graffiti, plant trees, and remove weeds in the Northeast Forest, Indian Fields, and Shandler Recreation Areas.
Timberland® Earthkeepers® started Dig It events as part of their goal to plant one million trees by 2010. And during Dig It at Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday, October 3, Timberland will plant their one millionth tree – one year ahead of schedule! All volunteers will be given a t-shirt, hat, and lunch!
About Van Cortlandt
Van Cortlandt Park spans more than a thousand acres atop the ridges and valleys of the northwest Bronx. The park is home to the country's first public golf course, the oldest house in the Bronx, and the borough's largest freshwater lake. It is New York City's fourth largest park – larger even than Central Park – with 1146.3 acres. It is comprised of numerous ballfields, playgrounds, a running track, tennis courts, hiking and running trails, biking trails, wooded forests, a golf course, and many other facilities.

Where it is and How to Get There
Van Cortlandt Park is located in the Bronx between Broadway, Jerome Avenue, Van Cortlandt Park South and the City Line.
The volunteer day will kick-off at Indian Field, off of E. 233rd Street.
The park is accessible by subway and bus.
