Park Drive Car-Free Hours

New York City Parks has created a schedule for park drive hours. Click on a tab below to view the hours for each borough.
Note: Bronx Greenways are car-free at all times.
Brooklyn
Prospect Park
The Park Drive is a 3.35-mile loop around the entire Park that is open to vehicular traffic during weekday rush hours only. Visit the Prospect Park website for more information.
Park Drive Hours
Weekends: Closed to motorists
Weekdays (except holidays):
West Drive (Southbound): Open to motorists 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
East Drive (Northbound): Open to motorists 7 a.m. - 9 a.m.
Coney Island Boardwalk
No motorists allowed. Bicycles allowed from 5 a.m.-10 a.m.
Manhattan
Central Park

NOTE: Even when Park Drives are open to vehicle traffic, there is a separate recreation lane for bicycle and pedestrian use.

SPEED LIMIT ON ALL DRIVES: 25 m.p.h.
The drives will be closed on weekends and legal NYC holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day).
Queens
Forest Park
Forest Park Drive between Woodhaven and Metropolitan Avenue, including Memorial Drive, there are no motorists allowed. All other areas are open to motorists 24 hours.
NOTE: Forest Park closes at 10 p.m.
Flushing Meadows Corona-Park
Roads open to motorists at all times.
Rockaway Beach
No motorists allowed. Bicycles allowed from 5 a.m. -10 a.m.
Staten Island
Silver Lake Park (Forest Ave. to Victory Blvd.)
Summer Hours:
Monday - Friday: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Weekends: Friday, 6:00 p.m. to Monday, 7:00 a.m.
Holidays: 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Year round:
Weekends: Friday, 6:00 p.m. to Monday, 7:00 a.m.
Holidays: 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
