  • This total body workout addresses muscle strength and endurance while keeping the heart rate up to burn calories and strengthen the cardio respiratory system. Continuous movement to great music makes it fun! This instructor is part of the NYC Park's Fitness Instructor Training Program.

Ages 13 and up. Activities include cooking, baking, table games, board games, and tournaments.

Program resumes in September. Center membership is required to take part in all programs.

Ages 55 and up. We offer bid whist, cards and crafts. Every fourth Friday of the month seniors can participate in a pancake breakfast. Registration is required.

A seated exercise class that raises the heart rate and improves balance, with minimal impact on joints. This class taught by an instructor who is in the Shape Up NYC Fitness Instructor Training Program.

Shape Up NYC: Yoga

Yoga practice is meditative movement, a training to cultivate greater focus, stability, ease, and self-control of both body and mind.  Through a series of stretching exercises linked with breathing techniques, this class will guide you in developing better posture, flexibility, alignment, and strength.  Though open to everyone, it is especially designed for those who may be wishing to explore yoga for the first time, with more advanced cueing offered to more advanced students.  Welcome!
