In the context of NYC Walks, we will walk and identify the trees around the recreation center using the Tree Identification process taught by the Parks Academy.  The first half of class is walking and identifying trees.  Those who are interested can return for the second half of the class back at the center to create a Tree Journal/Homemade Tree Encyclopedia, where we will paste leaves, flowers, bark, etc. form the environment that characterizes each tree with the option of writing a journal entry i.e. poem or drawing that relates to each tree identified.
