Important Winter Storm-Related Service Changes

New York City parks are now open. We continue to urge caution in parks under wintry conditions: parks paths can be slippery, snow cover can cover frozen lakes and bodies of water, and branches may have fallen. If you see a fallen branch call 311.

Some recreation centers will open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. today with limited staffing.

The ca. 1840 Greek Revival Bartow mansion features interior window shutters—sadly in need of repair—that help protect from summer's sun and winter's chill.

Participants will learn how to safely remove lead paint, prepare and paint wood surfaces, make repairs, and more under the guidance of preservation/restoration specialists.

This workshop is offered in partnership with Historic House Trust of NYC and Preservation Volunteers.

Lunch provided with tours of the mansion and speakers. Participants must be 18 or over.

Registration required.
