NYC Parks urges caution during the snow storm predicted for Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening. Heavy ice and snow can cause hazardous conditions in parks, including falling branches and treacherous frozen park paths. NYC Parks advises New Yorkers to avoid using parks until Wednesday morning, when we will provide an update on park conditions.

Shore Road Park Christmas Tree Lighting

Celebrate the holiday season at Shore Road Park Conservancy's annual tree lighting. 

Enjoy musical selections by Mary Carmosino, Xaverian High School Chorus and Pep Band, and the chorus and guitarists from The Guild for Exceptional Children. 

Bring your cameras for photo ops with Santa! Santa always stops by to visit with the children and hand out gifts.

Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. 

This year, honoree Lieutenant Colonel Lee C. Anderson will light the tree. 

Rain date is December 5.
