Learn the secrets of insect-hunting in Brooklyn Bridge Park with Julie Feinstein, author of the Field Guide to Urban Wildlife, and Collection Manager at the American Museum of Natural History. After a short talk, we will take a walk in the park and see what kinds of insects we can find. First we will check to make sure that what we find is an insect and not some other life form. Then we’ll try to tell if it’s a beetle or a bug, fly or bee, moth or butterfly. (We'll stop for any birds and mammals that show up, too.)

The blog UrbanWildlifeGuide.net will post photos of any insects we see during our walks that we can’t identify on the spot or want to know more about. Parents bring cameras, with macro lenses if you have them; there will be photo ops.
