Heavy ice and snow can cause hazardous conditions in parks, including falling branches and treacherous frozen park paths. NYC Parks advises New Yorkers to avoid using parks until Wednesday morning, when we will provide an update on park conditions.

Join us for monthly monitoring sessions where we listen for the calls of local frogs. FrogWatch USA is a nationwide program that monitors and tracks amphibian populations by collecting data with help from volunteers like you. Bring a headlamp or flashlight for the night walk and monitoring. This program is suitable for ages 8 and up. Registration required by phone or email.
  • Wed., April 17  at 7:00 p.m.: Nevada Ave parking lot, High Rock Park
  • Wed., May 22  at 8:00 p.m.: Greenbelt Nature Center, Buttonbush Swamp (The May 15 session has moved)
  • Wed., June 19 at 8:00 p.m.: Greenbelt Nature Center, Buttonbush Swamp
