Important Winter Storm-Related Service Changes

New York City parks are now open. We continue to urge caution in parks under wintry conditions: parks paths can be slippery, snow cover can cover frozen lakes and bodies of water, and branches may have fallen. If you see a fallen branch call 311.

Some recreation centers will open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. today with limited staffing.

Engage in a creative dialogue with your surroundings guided by professional artists working in various media. Join artist Wennie Huang in this watercolor workshop focusing on techniques that capture the elusive, translucent and reflective qualities of water. Working off the inverted landscape mirrored in the Aquatic Garden, experiment with wet-on-wet washes, glazing and brushwork to suggest the rippling effect of water. Registration recommended, online at our website below, by calling   or at the Perkins Visitor Center. Drop-ins welcome as space allows.
