We will walk through the three-year old Brooklyn Bridge Park’s native plant gardens, where much has been built into the relatively small space of Pier One: freshwater pools, woodland, prairie, and salt marsh habitat. On the lookout for spring blooms, we will also keep an eye open for the insects and birds that have found this rich mixture of habitats a welcoming place, and discuss the interrelationships of plants, pollinators, and ecosystems.
