Where else can you sit on a porch in Manhattan? Enjoy the arrival of warm weather by joining us for our annual Open House at Dyckman Farmhouse Museum. A special feature of the day in the "country" will be local artists working in the plein-air (in the open air) tradition of landscape painting in the garden.
Events During the Day:
Artists at Work
In the late 19th and early 20th century, artists came to Inwood to capture its remaining rural character on canvas. Local artists Andrea Cukier, Diane Drescher, Elissa Gore, Tony Serio and Marc Solomon continue that plein-air tradition and will spend the day finding inspiration at the farmhouse.
On the Farm
Take a self-guided tour of the farmhouse and learn more about the Dyckman family and what living in the country meant in early 19th century New York.
