Ongoing tours and information will be provided focusing on the Dutch origins of the Alice Austen House (which the Austen family affectionately nicknamed Clear Comfort). The home dates back to 1690 as a one room, one and half story gamble roof farm house. Visitors will learn about the day to day life relating to the architectural details. Some still present today: Delftware, field stone exterior, ceiling beams and the Dutch farm house front door with original hardware.
