The Big Apple Barbecue Block Party takes place one weekend each June in Madison Square Park and surrounding streets, attracting people from near and far to celebrate America’s authentic culinary and musical traditions. Event admission is free, with award-winning barbecue and Southern-inspired fare from the country’s top pitmasters available for $8/plate. Live performances from emerging and established rock, blues and soul artists take place onstage throughout the day, and some of the country’s most innovative chefs share insights and cooking tips in the Seminar Tent.
Cost
Admission to the Big Apple Barbecue Block Party is free, so no ticket is needed to attend. Barbecue is sold directly at the pitmaster’s rigs for $8 per plate. Desserts and Beverages may be purchased from $2 - $6. Only cash (and FastPasses) will be accepted.
