"Marvelous Mott Haven" Historic Walk Tour for Bronx Week 2012

Bronx Borough Historian Lloyd Ultan will lead a historic walking tour through Old Mott Haven, one of the borough’s oldest business districts. As the place where the famed J.L. Mott Iron Works, the birthplace of America’s first coal-burning stove, was located, today’s Mott Haven is a bustling community where one can experience an explosion of cultural and ethnic diversity.
Location
. This tour begins at the southeast corner of East 138th Street and Third Avenue, outside the #6 train station stop.
Cost
Each tour costs $10 for BCHS members, $15 for non-members. Please make reservations, since these programs are quite popular and tend to sell out quickly. Contact The Society at (718) 881-8900 to reserve your spot. The tours generally run for two hours.
